- What are the cooking facilities? Every space has a double gas hob for cooking on, as well as access to a large BBQ. The tree cabins the hobs are in the inside kitchen and the BBQ on the deck, for Hobbit, Goji and the Yurt they are in the outdoor kitchen area, please bring your own charcoal for the BBQ. Every space has a wood fired Ooni pizza oven for private use, we supply the wood pellets for burning in the oven. Every space has an under counter fridge with the exception of Goji which has a chest fridge. The Hobbit house has a fire pit at the back, the yurt has a fire pit at the front and Goji has a covered fire pit in the kitchen area. On the meadow we have a communal fire pit, beside the hot tub area.
- Extreme Weather? During the winter there is a risk of the water pipes freezing so please be aware we may have to switch the water off and drain the cabin at night in extreme cold temperatures. We can usually turn the water back on first thing in the morning, if we can't we'll provide water for you, in extreme cold cases where we can't trust it not freezing over all day we'll refund that night's stay. The cabins are all fitted with trace heating wires along all the pipes to prevent this happening in a normal frost.
- Do we need to bring firewood? We provide fire wood in each space with enough for a fire an evening, with extra provided in the winter months. We sell firewood on site for outdoor fires.
- Is there disabled access to the spaces? We welcome limited mobility and disabled guests to the Journeyman and can also accomodate disabled people in some of our smaller spaces, get in contact to see which are most suitable on hello@brookhousewoods.com
- Do you offer stays of different length or check in not on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday? During high season in the treecabins we don't offer stays of different lengths or on odd check in days, we do have flexibility during high season for Goji, Hobbit and Oriana, get in contact with your proposed dates on brookhousewoods@gmail.com
- Can I bring my pet? As a general rule yes! We've had visitors in all shapes and sizes, cats, parakeets, horses and even a golden buzzard! Drop us an email to check that your furry friend is OK but in general we welcome all.
- Are the pubs mentioned on the website dog friendly? Yes! Herefordshire loves dogs! We also have the number of a dog friendly taxi service in case you don't fancy the walk back.
- Which is the best treehouse?! Such a hard question as its such personal preference! In general Walden is higher up in the canopy line so feels more tree tops and has a slightly Scandi feel to it, Humboldt is tucked in the trees a little with a twisted Oak right on the deck along with a hammock and has a slightly more bohemian feel, whilst Venn has a double aspect view looking down the Frome Valley and its rolling hills with a fine Oak coming through the deck. Best thing is to have a look at the gallery on each page and see which one speaks to you the most.
