Journeyman Treehouse is Brook House Woods' largest treehouse — a luxury 4-bedroom retreat in Herefordshire that sleeps up to 8 guests with 2 bathrooms, 2 private outdoor baths, additional WC downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen, a double-height open-plan living space, vintage pool table, projector screen and a huge private deck looking straight out into the canopy. Set in 300 acres of ancient woodland on a working hop and apple farm, around 2.5 hours from London and 45 minutes from the Cotswolds, it’s designed for adults, couples, families and small groups who want a secluded woodland stay with space, comfort and a little more privacy than most UK countryside accommodation gives you. Underneath it all, a fire pit waiting for whenever the evening decides to slow down.
Two outdoor baths sit tucked into the woodland just off the treehouse, half-hidden, entirely private, and the treehouse is well-insulated so it stays comfortable year-round.

The kitchen is built for real cooking, not just breakfast — large oven and 5 ring hob, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and enough space for two people to cook at once without bumping into each other. The dining area seats the whole group, inside or out, because some of the best parts of a group stay happen sitting still around a full table. Underfloor heating and two indoor shower rooms mean nobody's choosing between rustic and comfortable.
The double-height living area is the heart of the treehouse: sink into it after a day outdoors, projector on, someone on the swing, board games out on the kitchen table, somebody losing spectacularly at pool while somebody else dozes off on the sofa. It's designed so the group can do their own thing or all pile into one room — either way counts.

The wooden deck is where your shoulders really drop — a huge, elevated stretch of outdoor living, lifted properly into the trees rather than just overlooking them. That's the real difference a treehouse stay makes: not a patio with a nice view, but a vantage point inside the woodland canopy itself, with views that shift through the seasons, and easy access to nature that can help reduce stress and lift mood. An outdoor shower sits close by for anyone coming in from the baths or a morning walk.
There's a pizza oven and BBQ set-up for whoever's decided tonight is a cooking-together kind of night. Once the sun's gone, the fire pit takes over — the part of the evening with no schedule, where stories run long and nobody's rushing anyone to bed. Mornings are just as unhurried, made for slow mornings: coffee on the deck, or straight out the door onto 300 acres of countryside — walking through woodland, fields and orchards. For couples or families wanting to relax, it feels like the perfect spot to switch off.
As part of Brook House Woods' wider collection, there are also four other smaller cabins between 5–15 minutes’ walk from Journeyman, and exclusive site hire is available for larger groups. Journeyman is set in its own private woodland area and is very secluded.
Journeyman can accommodate family and friendship groups, but we don't accept stag or hen bookings due to the tranquil nature of the location. It's the perfect spot to gather with loved ones. The main deck also includes two outdoor bathtubs, perfect for unwinding after the kids are in bed.

Two outdoor bathtubs sit side by side in the trees, just off Journeyman, screened enough that soaking outdoors feels like the most private thing in the world. Choose hot running water for a slow soak under the canopy, or go cold for a proper plunge on a warm day.

Beyond the treehouse: Bromyard Downs for wide-open views, the Malvern Hills for a scenic day out, and, right here on the estate, a working hop and apple orchard home to on-site cidery Little Pomona — the kind of detail that makes this feel like a place with real roots, not just a backdrop.
Ancient woodland
Some things here are meant to stay wild.
This is old woodland, thick with canopy and quiet in a way that newer forests aren't — rooted here long before Journeyman was built into it, and it'll outlast all of us. Birdlife and wildlife move through it constantly if you're paying attention — bring binoculars if that's your thing. We ask all guests to tread lightly; some things here are meant to stay wild, undisturbed, exactly as they are.

Slow the stay down further with private yoga classes or massage, in the woods or out on the deck. Try falconry or a farm tour, depending on the season. Hire a private chef for a locally-sourced meal, or order a feasting kit and cook together. Taste your way through Little Pomona, the on-site cidery. There's a tennis court too — complimentary, with access on a first-come-first-served basis, so just turn up with your rackets and balls.
